Touch controls were added to a pile of Xbox Cloud Gaming titles, and Microsoft announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks is now offering free trials for Apple TV+ and Apple Music.
This week has seen a number of new titles announced for Xbox Game Pass, as well as a few that are leaving the service. Xbox Assist has been renamed to Xbox Support, and now features redesigned articles with the ability to scroll through the items. Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC and Mac has been updated to support controller rumble when you're playing your games, and the Samsung TV app is set to receive the same treatment later this month. You'll also receive notifications when items on your wishlist go on sale. The Xbox Store's wishlisting and gifting features have been updated, so you can share your list with family and friends. Other additions this month include an 'Ask to Join' feature, which is a new button on a friend's profile that will notify them that you would like to join them in the game they're playing, to which they can give a response by accepting or denying the request. On the subject of Settings, you'll now see a Recommendations section at the top of your settings menu, which will give you curated setting options to consider. On top of that, you can now customise your power settings further with new options, such as having the console power off after idling for a specific period. Heading to the Power options page in your console's settings now offers a breakdown of the power consumption both Shutdown and Sleep modes use. Microsoft, in its continued pursuit to make its consoles better for the environment - and your wallet - has also provided additional power functions. Each offers a dedicated streaming experience, so the existing Twitch app is now solely for viewing other players' streams. For those of you that enjoy streaming, you can now start your stream from your console with Twitch, Lightstream, and Streamlabs apps. On top of this, Xbox Series X|S consoles now offer increased bit rates for 720p and 1080p game clips.
The app offers a much smoother experience than the old system when editing and viewing your captures - something that was sorely lacking previously. On the captures and streaming side of the update, you can now use the dedicated Captures app to see your gameplay clips and screenshots. Additionally, the channels will now offer noise suppression as standard on Xbox Series X|S consoles, so you no longer have to listen to other users' background noise. You can access it via the 'Parties & chats' tab on the Xbox guide.
The Discord functionality, which was added earlier this year, will now let you jump into Discord server voice channels directly from your console menu. The November update looks to have done a lot for various capture, communication, and streaming features on Xbox consoles.
